Ligustrum lucidum
Oleaceae
Uncommon
This introduction from China and Japan grows to a
moderate-sized tree up to 10 m tall. In appearance, it
may look like a local rainforest tree, due to the largish,
glossy green leaves. Leaves are up to 12 cm by 5 cm,
and are opposite and not toothed. Masses of small
white flowers appear from spring to summer. The
blue-black fruit is abundantly produced and spread
by birds.
