Lonicera japonica
Caprifoliaceae

Common

This aggressive climber from Asia may grow over
shrubs and into trees, smothering the vegetation below.
Introduced as a garden plant for its perfumed and
showy flowers, this vine is now widespread across the
highlands. The opposite, ovate leaves are up to 8 cm by
4 cm, with a central vein and several secondary veins.
The white and yellow flowers appear at almost any time
of the year.
